The Nuttall Family

What a sweet family! I met the Nuttalls while the kids were practicing for a children's play at our church a couple of years ago. Tammy and I got to talking over several weeks, and soon after, she brought the boys in for some Christmas portraits. Jake and Luke are two adorable little boys with HUGE personalities. It's quite obvious that they have a very close relationship just by watching them interact for the short amount of time that they were at my studio.
This was the first time I had taken family portraits for them. Tammy wanted something formal with Mike in uniform so that the boys would always have a special memory of this time in their lives. They have lived in Clarksville as long as Jake and Luke have been around, so when they move in May, it will be a big adjustment for the boys. We will truly miss you guys! Thank you for letting me create your family portrait!

Whitney

Spring is finally here and the weather has been gorgeous! This also means that graduation is right around the corner for many high school seniors. Whitney will be one of the lucky ones graduating in May, and we spent a couple of hours at Dunbar Cave on Thursday enjoying the weather and creating some great images! Whitney's mother, Maria, and my husband, Dayne, have worked together for over 3 years, and her whole family is absolutely wonderful. I photographed Maria's son's senior portraits several years ago and it's hard to believe that it's already Whitney's turn to graduate. Maria & Whitney picked out their favorites at the studio today and I am so excited to get them ordered. Whitney is a beautiful girl with such a sweet personality. I wish her lots of luck in the coming months!

Nathan

Nathan is such a sweet baby! This was one of those sessions where I couldn't stop clicking the shutter. He was adorable no matter what he was doing. These portraits were for his one year birthday. Unfortunately, he and his family will be moving in May, so I won't get the pleasure of seeing that smile in the studio again, but I've really had a good time creating these collages of him. I'm trying to make a set of creative templates that I can use again and again, but since every session is different, I find myself making something new for every client. I guess that's a good thing...no two will look alike. Nathan's mother, Soon, seemed to really like all of the images. I can't wait to get her order back from the lab. What a gift for our children to have professional portraits that they will be able to treasure all their life. Most of us just have lots of goofy school pictures with the occasional 8x10 from Olan Mills. Pictures are one thing that never gets old....I have such a cool job.

Visit with Missy

Missy and I became friends while getting our degree in portraiture at the Ohio Institute of Photography. She and her fiance Gary were in Nashville over the weekend, so it was a great opportunity to catch up and introduce her to the newest love in my life. Missy lives in Canada so it's not often that we get to see each other. She told me that they were staying in the Music City Sheraton, so without realizing that there were TWO Sheraton Hotels in Nashville, I of course went to the Downtown Sheraton first and then proceeded to get BACK in the car (after paying for parking in the garage) and go to the right place. Of course Carter has no idea that his mother has no brain sometimes and probably just thought we were there for the bright lights and elevator ride. (Not a bad idea for those of you looking for a cheap night on the town.) Anyway, Missy took some photographs of Carter for her new website and he was an absolute doll for her! He wouldn't stop smiling for her and of course she was loving it...what photographer wouldn't love a kid already trained for the camera?? Here a few of my favorites...enjoy!

Kelsey

   The Kash family is definitely one of a kind! When my aunt Mary asked if I could take my cousin Kelsey's High School Senior Portraits I was quite excited! Kelsey is one of 10 children; 6 girls and 4 boys. After having 4 girls of their own, Aunt Mary and Uncle Rich were blessed with 6 children from Etheopia. What a family~never a dull moment in their household I'm sure!
    Kelsey will be graduating in 2007 from Marshall High School in Marshall,Illinois. I have so many great memories of summers spent in Marshall with grandparents, aunts and uncles and TONS of cousins! It's crazy that everything changes and time passes so quickly. Kelsy is the 4th to graduate amongst her siblings and since she is 8 years younger than me, I felt like the time that we got to spend together creating these portraits was really a time that I got to know her alot better. She, her mom, and sister Kristy all came down on a Friday night and stayed most of Saturday. She mentioned that several of her friends had made fun of her for going down to Tennessee to have her Senior pictures taken like I was some hillbilly with a point and shoot camera! She tried to explain that I was actually a professional photographer, but they weren't buying that at all haha! Hopefully the pictures were better confirmation for them! ;) Thanks, girls! I had a blast!!

The Allen Family

Baby #4 will be making her arrival in the next few weeks! The Allen family has literally been growing before our eyes on this blog! It wasn't long ago that the girls were having their pictures taken kissing Mommy's belly before Mark was born! Now Mark will be a big brother! Dave and Sue's Family Album is turning out beautifully. 2 more sessions and the album will be complete. We can't wait to meet the newest little one!
